World Health Day
World health day is held on the 7th of April every year to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization, WHO. Major health concerns are addressed on this day such that awareness is created among people. Every year has its own theme and the concerned issues are addressed. Events are organized on this day to educate people about health concerns. The theme of this year’s world health day is Depression.
A fatal problem
Surveys say that a huge number of people experience depression and most among them don’t talk about it. People don’t take it in a serious way and say to themselves and to people who have depression that it will pass in a few days. No, it does not, never say that. Depression is a delicate subject that should be handled with utmost care. Depression, when not taken seriously, has led to suicides in a large number of cases. It has a serious toll on human emotions. It kills all the positivity you have in your life and it just pulls you down. People are of the opinion that when expressed they will be subjected to ridicule.
Seeking for help
People should come out and express themselves when they are going through depression. There are professionals who will ably guide you through it such that you could overcome it. Don’t lock your emotions in a vault, ever. This is a message to all the people: never ever take lightly when the person you know is going through depression, it is a serious issue which has to be addressed. Please tell them to seek help. A small gesture like this could save his /her life.
The sunrise ever
Depression has led a 24-year-old guy to jump out of a building and stream it live in facebook. He still had a lot of life in him but still, he took that call. Never give up, there is lot more to life. There is nothing to be embarrassed about when you have trouble there are people who could guide you out of this, all you have to do is just reach out to them. When you are going through a tough time, just remember this quote from the Batman movie:
“The night is always the dark before the dawn”.
Have a bright future ahead.
